Haber to miss Townsville

The Townsville 400 has always been close to Morgan’s heart given he’s one of very few on the starting grid across both V8 Supercars and the GT Championships hailing from North Queensland, but this year, Haber will sit out the only Queensland based GT event.

Given Marc GT’s late entry into the 2016 Australian GT Championships, their contention of the Sprint Series this year is out of reach.  As such, the decision was made to focus on the Endurance Championship, which started at Phillip Island in May.  Marc GT will continue working and testing the car over the coming months, which will provide both Morgan and Jake more seat time ahead of the 2nd round of the Endurance Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 26th – 28th August.

“It’s hard for me to miss the Townsville round as I haven’t missed a race there since I started my career”, said Haber.

“I have a lot of family, friends and supporters who travel to the Townsville race to watch me, so yes, I feel bad for not being there this year, but we’re looking at the bigger picture and focusing on the Endurance Championship”.

Haber Racing remains loyal to Mackay and will continue its tradition of bringing the car to Mackay for promotional appearances around the Townsville 400.  Long time sponsor of Haber Racing, Transit Tyres, will have the car on display at its Victoria Street branch.  Follow Transit Tyres for all the updates, but with only 2 BMW M6 GT3’s in the Southern Hemisphere, the community are urged to come down and have a look at the car and catch up with Morgan.
