Greg Taylor will sport an all-new livery at the third round of the CAMS Australian GT Championship, set for May 6-8 at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth.
Taylor’s Adina Apartment Hotels Audi R8 LMS will be decked out in a matte gun-metal grey, mirroring the design on the Audi R8 Ultra in which he competes in the CAMS Australian GT Trophy Series.
Debuting the design at the opening Trophy Series at Sandown, an event which saw Taylor and co-driver Barton Mawer win both races, it proved both instantly recognisable on track and hugely popular with fans.
There are changes inside the car too, as Mawer returns to driving duties in the CAMS Australian GT Championship for the first time this season after Taylor competed solo in the opening two rounds of the Championship.
“After the success we enjoyed at Sandown with the CAMS Australian GT Trophy Series presented by Pirelli it’s great to get back behind the wheel with Greg for Perth.
“I drove the car at the Bathurst 12 Hour where we won our class, so it’s not an unfamiliar car.
“For the team it also made sense to get me back in the car as we start gearing up for the CAMS Australian Endurance Championship and try to capitalise on the success we had at Sandown.”
The Adina Apartment Hotels entry is one of three from the Audi Customer Racing stable which has made the trek to Barbagallo to test ahead of the CAMS Australian GT Championship’s first ever visit to the circuit.
Championship leaders James Koundouris and Marcus Marshall (Supabarn Supermarkets) will be joined by Geoff Emery (JAMEC PEM) and the Taylor/Mawer combination as they come to grips with the 2.41-kilometre layout during a test day on Wednesday.
The third round of the CAMS Australian GT Championship will have two races as part of the V8 Supercars Perth SuperSprint on May 6-8.
