Twigg brings up a ton at Phillip Island

Max Twigg will this weekend record his 100th Australian GT race start as he takes to the Phillip Island circuit for the opening round of the 2017 CAMS Australian Endurance Championship.

Twigg becomes the second man to reach the marker, with Tony Quinn the only other man to have recorded 100 Australian GT race starts.

Beginning his Australian GT career at the category’s second even at Queensland Raceway in 2005, Twigg has gone on to claim four race wins in 96 Australian GT Championship race starts.

The Queenslander has stood on the podium ten times, and has finished inside the top ten in more than half of his starts.

Add in Twigg’s three Australian Endurance Championship starts from last season and his tally rises to 99, with Sunday’s race set to be his 100th race start.
